Desert Triangle Tour

Destination Covered : Shekhawati-Bikaner-Osian-Jaisalmer-Jodhpur

Day 01: Flight to India (Delhi)

On arrival at Delhi, you will be met by a Rajasthan Wildlife Tour representative and will be transferred to a hotel. Relax for the remaining part of the day.

Day 02: Old - New Delhi

On day 2 of your Desert Triangle Tour of Rajasthan, you will embark on a sightseeing tour of Delhi after a leisurely morning. Visit the Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat (the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi), Humayun's Tomb are some of the attractions you will visit. Besides, you will also be able to enjoy a rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk, one of the oldest markets in Delhi. You will also be taken on an extended trip to the Rashtrapati Bhawan (the president's mansion), the Parliament House, India Gate and the Lotus Temple.

In the evening, you will be able to visit some of the most famous shopping arcades and malls in Delhi to indulge in a wonderful shopping experience. You will return for an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 03: Delhi - Shekhawati (about 270 km)

You will be visit the Qutub Minar, a 71-meter high structure that consists of five stories. Built in 1199, this tower was intended to be the most glorious tower of victory in the world. It was also damaged twice and repaired in 1326 and 1368.After this interesting visit, you will drive to the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan, India. Upon arrival, check into a hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 04: Shekhawati - Bikaner (about 190 km)

On day 4 of your Desert Triangle tour of Rajasthan, you will be able to visit some of the exquisite havelis that adorn the Shekhawati region. All these exquisite havelis were built by the wealthy traders who called Shekhawati their home. Decorated with elaborate frescoes and murals, these havelis are a treat to the eyes. Scenes from Hindu mythology, dancing fairies and other such portrayals adorn the walls of these havelis that are by far the most important attraction of the region. Later, you will proceed towards Bikaner and check in at a hotel on arrival for an overnight stay.

Day 05: Bikaner

After the breakfast, you will drive to the famous Junagarh Fort (1571-1611 AD). With its red sandstone façade, the fort is decorated with numerous kiosks and balconies that have been carved in the most exquisite manner. The fort also houses a number of beautiful palaces and monuments. After this trip, you will embark on a tour around the nearby villages. Overnight stay will be at the hotel in Bikaner.

Day 06: Bikaner - Osian - Jaisalmer (about 330 km)

On day 6 of the Desert Triangle tour of Rajasthan, you will drive to the desert city of Jaisalmer via Osian. Speaking of Osian, it is an important pilgrimage center for Hindu and Jains. The oldest Temple here was constructed in 1178 AD. One can often see antelopes grazing by the road during the drive. Blackbucks and Chinkaras are the most common among them. You will stop enroute at a village to gain an insight into the traditional life of the villages in Rajasthan. You will arrive at Jaisalmer in the evening where you will stay overnight.

Day 07: Jaisalmer

Rajasthan Wildlife Tour will take you on a detailed sightseeing trip around the desert city of Jaisalmer. With its grand havelis (mansions) and the impressive Jaisalmer Fort, Jaisalmer truly lives up to its reputation as a "living museum". The Jain Temple is another important attraction you will visit during your sightseeing trip around Jaisalmer.

In the afternoon you will drive around 40 km away from Jaisalmer to Sam dunes where you will be treated to some spectacular views of the sunset before driving back to Jaisalmer. Your overnight stay will be at Jaisalmer.

Day 08: Jaisalmer - Jodhpur (about 290 km)

Day 8 of the Rajasthan Desert Triangle tour would take you to regal city Jodhpur. Also known as the "blue city", Jodhpur is the second largest city of Rajasthan. A flourishing trading town in the medieval ages, Jodhpur is truly an experience in itself. The old city is surrounded by a huge 10 km long wall that has 101 bastions and seven gates. As part of your sightseeing trip you will visit the Mehrangarh Fort, the Jaswant Thada, the colorful bazaars and so on. Your overnight stay will be at Jodhpur.

Day 09: Jodhpur - Delhi

After a sumptuous breakfast you will leave for Delhi by road. You will arrive around afternoon with the rest of the day left free for you. In fact, the free time will provide you with a great opportunity to indulge in some last minute shopping or enjoy a relaxing massage at the hotel.

Day 10: Flight Home

You will transfer to the airport to board your return flight thus marking the end of your Desert Triangle Tour of Rajasthan.
